The Queen Arrives
It was with pride that we watched HMS Queen Elizabeth enter her home port of Portsmouth Harbour, after an exciting journey to get to this stage.
At JMS Consultants we were pleased to be celebrating with the whole country in this marvel of shipbuilding and engineering of which we have played a significant part of.
JMS Consultants was tasked with training a large part of the workforce, to ensure that the atmosphere testing of the whole vessel was carried out to high standard. This contributed in maintaining the health and safety of the teams building and working on such a large engineering project.
JMS Consultants were approached by the main contractor in the early days of the build, to deliver AGT1 (Authorised Gas Tester training) to a select group of employees to carry out atmosphere gas testing on board the vessel. We took this opportunity with enthusiasm and pride, having already delivered this training at the Rosyth dockyard previously.
Once the training had been carried out on the first teams working on The Queen Elizabeth, we were then asked to train and re-train the extended workforce carrying out the important work alongside the project on the dockside.
When the Queen Elizabeth was launched into the basin on completion of her hull structure, it took with it a large part of its workforce. So when the HMS Prince of Wales project started, a new workforce was employed. This also meant more training for a new team of atmosphere testers and again this training came from JMS Consultants.
To be evolved in such a prestigious project throughout, has filled the team here with a high sense of achievement, pride and honour. This is shared by all of us working within JMS Consultants.
